ONLINE: Pop Up Tunnel Book with Kit Davey

Each page of this book has a flat mini tunnel book which is revealed when you unlock the tab and lift it up.

Five layers, or frames, give you opportunities to attach images to create depth.

When you flatten the tunnel and slip it back under the tab it goes back into hiding.

Video of the book in action!

Kit Davey is a Redwood City, California-based artist specializing in book art.  Her work pushes the boundaries of “bookness” by using unusual materials such as mica, acetate, flattened coins and teabags as pages, and making book covers from shells, coins, driftwood, rulers, buttons, and acetate.  Kit has taught over 70 different book structures, holding her classes by Zoom so students the world over can join her.  Her work is available on her website Found-Object-Art.com and at SF Bay Area art events.  She makes a book a day and shares them on Instagram:  @daveykit
