In Person Workshop: A “Case” of Mistaken Identity: The wall organizer that thinks it’s a book! with Barbara Helander

Join Barb Helander as she leads you through the transformation of a quarter-bound English case into a file organizer. 

Using cloth and beautiful decorative papers as covering materials, the end result is a “blook” that will look stunning on the wall of any bindery, studio, workshop, or home office.  Use this fun wall organizer to hold receipts, instructions, notes, or snail mail.  

Over the course of her 35-year career, Barbara Helander has earned two degrees (B. Ed., M.Sc.- Clothing & Textiles); worked in apparel manufacturing; and was a professor of textiles at Seneca College. Barbara worked her way through the CBBAG core curriculum courses and earned her Certificate of Completion in 2010. She is a core curriculum instructor for CBBAG and a mentor for the Home Study programme. Recently Barbara has been part of the team that transformed Bookbinding 1 for virtual learning. CBBAG is pleased to be able to offer this workshop at no cost to members as part of the celebration of the 40^th anniversary of CBBAG’s founding.

Hours: 2 PM - 5 PM

Course fee: $0 members/$60 non-members (incl. one-yr CBBAG membership)

Prerequisite: None

Maximum enrollment: 5 Students – please join waitlist – more space might be available based on interest

Materials: Experience with case binding will be helpful but not required.
