Artist's Statement:
Currently studying for Master's degree in Architecture at the University of Toronto, Robert graduated from Ryerson University with a bachelor degree in Architecture. Robert has been a long time member of CBBAG and had taken various workshops in bookbinding with Don Taylor, finishing with Betsy Palmer Elderidge, and watercolour marbling with Shelagh Smith.
In 2004, Robert received the first ever one-time endowment "Kerstin Tini Miura Scholarship", of which only one recipient was selected by Tini herself, to benefit the next generation designer binder to further study French design fine binding with Monique Lallier at the American Academy of Bookbinding, Telluride, Colorado. Robert is now continuing with the five year programme at AAB, studying French design fine binding with Monique Lallier.
Robert has been making books and publishing original written work in miniature books from home under the name Little Gem Press. Besides making books, Robert is continuing with his life-long passion for playing the piano.
