Joan Byers, Dorothy Field, & Virginia Porter Let us praise the Garry Oak Japanese stab-binding; letterpress printed with linocut illustration; tipped-in handmade Garry Oak leaf paper. 12.5 x 30 x 0.4 cm Joan Byers and Ginny Porter both work in second hand bookstores in Sidney, British Columbia, and are active members of the Fairbank Calligraphy Society. Self taught for the most part, they have also attended many workshops in calligraphy and bookbinding. When time permits, they enjoy letterpress printing at their Apple Press Farm workshop, drawing, painting, gardening, and of course, reading. Dorothy Field is a visual artist who has worked with handmade paper for sculpture, prints, and one-of-a-kind books for the last twenty-five years. She is also a published poet.
