Acknowledgements

THE CANADIAN BOOKBINDERS AND BOOK ARTISTS GUILD would like to acknowledge the contribution of a great many people and organizations who have helped make this exhibition a success.

Many Guild members and friends have worked very hard to bring this exhibition to fruition. Thanks to Ann Douglas for condition reporting and display mount fabrication; to Ann Douglas, Janet Carroll, Kristina Komendant, Carolyn Qualle, Karen Smith, and Ann Vincente for liaising with local galleries; to Richard Miller for catalogue [and web] design; to Alan Horne for editing; to Mariette Hayeur and Beatrice Stock for French translation; and to Franklyn Smith for much help.

The jurors, Carol Barton, Robert Jekyll, and Michael Wilcox, did an exceptional and conscientious job, in what was a very difficult task. As well, the one hundred and forty-four members who submitted slides for 323 works to the first stage jurying our thanks for their support of the Guild's exhibitions programme.

Awards have been generously donated by Aboveground Art Supplies, The Bookbinder's Warehouse, Inc., Bookmakers, Colophon Book Arts Supply, Inc., Harcourt Bindery, Japanese Paper Place, La papeterie St. Armand, Ontario Crafts Council, Unisource, William Cowley Parchment Works, and Woolfitt's Art Enterprises Inc. - we thank them all.

This catalogue has been produced with the financial support of Coach House Printing, to which we are grateful. Susan Warner Keene has produced an insightful article and the exceptional photography is the work of Thomas Moore.

The Guild gratefully acknowledges the generous financial assistance of the Ontario Arts Council, the City of Toronto through the Toronto Arts Council, and the Massey Foundation. Finally we would like to thank the members of the Guild who responded generously to our fundraising appeal. It is very much appreciated.
